TIPS will be an ongoing series posted on The Film Reel, usually on Thursday of every week. TIPS stands for Totally Inappropriate and Pointless Suggestions and will be a place where I can bring a new kind of list to the blog. Forget about Top Tens or Best Of lists, TIPS is all about handing out completely pointless, and probably unwanted, advice to everyone.
It’s all in good fun and certainly isn’t meant to be taken too seriously but within all that comedy (or what I hope will be comedy!) will be those little grains of truth. Taking the advice of The Film Reel may not be the best idea out there but I hope it becomes another piece of required reading for anyone looking for a good laugh.
Things like How to pick the right horror movie for your party, How to survive taking the kids to the movies, How to convince your friends that (insert bad movie here) is the greatest film ever made and the opening post of TIPS, How to annoy the crap out of everyone in a theater are just some of the ideas kicking around in my brain. If anyone has suggestions for a TIPS column, or would even like to write a TIPS column, just let me know in the comments below.
