It’s been a long time since there was a good contest around here and the last one failed miserably. Sometimes I wonder if you guys really like free stuff at all! This one will be a long contest though with a winner every week until July 22nd. It’s the NOTLD:R contest!
Here’s how it will work. I have posters and DVDs available to be won but you’ve gotta work a little for it this time. If you want to win a poster then all you have to do is leave a comment with your name and you’re in. If you want to win a DVD or a poster then you have to write a zombie haiku along with your name and comment. Your name will be kept in the contest until you win a prize or the contest is over. When the last day of the contest is here I’ll take all the names left and enter them for a DVD and a poster.
The DVDs aren’t ready yet so what you’ll be winning is a pre-order and when I finally get them I’ll make sure to send them out to the winners. I do have the posters already so those will be sent out right away. I’ll make the first drawing in 2 weeks and then have another one every week after that until July 22nd so there’s lots of chances to win. Here’s the two posters that are up for grabs.

For those of you in the Toronto area, The Film Reel will be hosting a charity screening of Night of the Living Dead Reanimated July 22nd at 9 pm at The Toronto Underground Cinema. There’s no cost to attend but we’re asking that everyone bring one or more DVDs to donate to the Toronto Public Library. Even if you can’t make it to the screening you can still donate. Get in touch with The Film Reel and we’ll let you know where you can send all those old DVDs and they can come back from the dead to haunt the shelves of the Toronto Public Libraries!

- While I will do my best to make sure that no charges are asked of you when you receive it, I can’t really control what will happen when the flick crosses borders. Just know that I’ll make sure to ask plenty of questions to make sure it’s free when it hits your doorstep.
- While I will go out of my way to make sure that it is really packed as safely and as best as possible, I really can’t be responsible for any damage that may occur. I’m a pretty nice guy and if it is unplayable when it reaches the winner, and you really kiss my butt hard! HAHA! I may just get you another copy, but you’d have to send the original one back.
- If I receive a broken copy back and it works for me then I’m gonna have to question the winner’s honesty and keep it for myself. I think I can trust you guys though!
- Also, none of my personal friends can enter (Sorry Eric, I know you comment here often enough!) coz I’ll just let them borrow it or watch it whenever they want anyway and that’s not fair to take it away from a loyal reader who doesn’t have access to the awesome parties that happen at my house so often.
- Sending me gifts in the mail to better your chances won’t work, but I won’t refuse any free stuff people wanna send me. Just know that you won’t be winning because you sent me something! HAHA!
