Yes folks, I hurt my back dragging things around my house on the weekend. Thankfully it’s feeling much better today. At least I got a new recliner and dryer out of the deal. Now I can sit in my new Lay Z Boy in warm clothes to soothe my back! HAHA!
So I’m starting up the Toronto After Dark Series tomorrow. It’s my need to revisit all the fun times I have had at that great film festival over the last few years while patiently waiting for this years fest to roll around in August. I’m just glad they moved it from October to August because I was getting tired of freezing my butt off in the cold weather. I can’t wait to see some great flicks and then enjoy a cool beer in the warm refreshing evening air on the patio across the street from the theater.
The festival has been running since 2006 and I missed the first year so I went onto their site to see what they had to offer that year. I’ve actually seen a few of the flicks such as Tokyo Zombie and Shinobi so that will save me some work for reviews. For anyone who is interested the flicks I’ll be watching and reviewing from the first year of the fest will include – Shinobi, Funky Forest, Frostbite, Re-cycle, Retribution, Sl8n8 (Slaughter Night) and Special. I’ve already got the review up for Tokyo Zombie so I’ll be skipping that one. Thank god I already had most of those in my collection so it wasn’t that bad to find the other few.
2007 was the first year that I went and that experience pushed me into super fan mode. I loved movies before but after that it has become an unhealthy obsession (depending on who you ask!). When I get into reviewing these flicks I’ll also share some of the great times that I had and I’m sure I’ve got a couple of pictures kicking around as well. The flicks I’ll review from that year will be – Mulberry Street, Automaton Transfusion, Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, Aachi & Ssipak, Alone, Blood Car, The Tripper, Simon Says and Murder Party.
2008 was the year that I got to see the most films actually at the festival but the most trouble I’ve had finding them to add to my collection after. At least my memory isn’t too bad and I can remember the fun I had and can still share some reviews of the flicks (a quick refresh over at Wikipedia will probably help a bit as well.) The movies I’ll be reviewing are – Let The Right One In, I Sell The Dead, Trailer Park of Terror, Netherbeast Incorporated, Mutant Chronicles, Repo the Genetic Opera, Tokyo Gore Police, 4bia, Home Movie and Donkey Punch.
Whew! Looking at all those titles is already making me tired. Looks like I’ve planned my next few weeks of movie viewing. All I’ve gotta do is manage to fit some time in there to take care of my kids and I should be okay. So be on the lookout for all these reviews under the TADS heading. Alright, I’ve gotta go help my son build his Lego Indiana Jones now.

Get your back healthy. The blogsphere is lonely without you!
^_^
You’d think with a sore back I’d actually watch more movies but that’s not the case. If only small children didn’t need so much attention I could really lounge around. HAHA!
